This series has been my current obsession. I stumbled upon this wonderful series by force. I had one of my best otaku friends over. we only had an hour or so left when my older sister burst into my room and demanded that we come down stairs and watch this anime she had discovered. I didn't want too thinking it couldn't possibly be all that great. Even with my doubtful attitude we sat down in my basement and watched the first three episodes.
The series is about a scholarship student, Haruhi Fujioka, and how he was only looking for a quiet place to study at Ouran Academy he stumbled upon the host club. He broke a vase for an auction that they were having and owed them $80,000, but being poor he couldn't pay them back that amount of money. So he became their dog, errand boy if you will. Eventually he becomes a host, once the others realize his potential and is given a quota. by the end of the first episode/ chapter you find out that Haruhi is a girl! This changes things.
Their are six other host.2nd years, Tamaki- the king and president of the host club, Kyoya- the shadow king and vice president. 3rd years, Hunny- the cute lolita, and Mori, the silent type. and 1st year twins Hikaru and Kaoru- brotherly love
While i was at first doubtful i ended up falling in love with the characters and the story. This series was originally a manga by Bisco Hatori. I have only read the first three manga, i am working to change that. I have found that there are differences in the manga to the anime. the biggest change being the artwork. Not that i dislike the manga work but i feel that they are more attractive in the anime. This most likely comes from the fact that i watched it first instead of reading it. Although the anime doesn't go as far as the manga. You can watch all of the anime on fundimation.com.
I have also recently discovered the new live action drama of Ouran, i have only watched up to episode 8. I have a few pet peeves with it because Tamaki is suppose to be half French half Japanese and hunny is blonde . That frustrates me. other than that i quite enjoy the drama and am looking forward to seeing the rest of it.
Fanfics are something that i have been into for many years now. When i started looking up ouran fanfics i would look up Tama/Haru pairings. But i have developed a favoring of Kyoya/Haru. His attitude is intriguing. While i love all of the ouran characters Kyoya is my new fave. hehe. I have so many fanfics that i love! But i cannot save them on my account because i have only been reading on my ipod. This frustrates me. i will have to figure out how to do it from my ipod. but my fanfic.net account is ElfireXXTvin if you would like to check out some of the stories i have favorited. Even though Kyoya can sometimes get a little OC in the fan fics i feel like he could become kind hearted somewhat when it comes to his special someone. I was going to describe some of my fave fan fics that ive read about kyo/haru. but i would just go on and on. XD
I feel as tho while there is alot of info here i wasnt very detailed aboot the story or characters. *sigh* its my first post they should get better :{p
